Every Child Matters is the government's vision for enhancement of the way in which professionals work together to provide care for children and young people, ensuring they have support they need to:
- Be healthy
- Stay safe
- Enjoy and achieve through learning
- Make a positive contribution to society
- Achieve economic well-being
The programme demands that all organisations that provide services to children work together in more integrated and effective ways.
Safeguarding
Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB)
LSCBs have been established by the government to ensure that organisations work together to safeguard children and promote their welfare. Southampton’s LSCB brings together representatives of each of the main agencies and professionals responsible for helping to safeguard children.
The LSCB agrees how the different agencies must co-operate to safeguard children in Southampton and make sure that these arrangements work effectively to bring about good outcomes for children.
Safeguarding children and protecting their wellbeing and safety is everyone's responsibility. Below you will find documents relating to safeguarding children.
