How the toolkit works
Seven significant events are identified, from arrest to release:
For each of these events a link is made to the relevant stage in the cycle of change, then a simple guide is given to the interventions which may be used for the partner, child and family.
Leaflets and more detailed resources are available to download which can be used to facilitate discussion with the child to prepare and respond to the situation. Further, more detailed information which can be used as a resource for a more comprehensive understanding.
Staff support information for practitioners and line managers is available. There is a guide to John's model of reflective practice, together with suggested questions and guidelines to respond to common challenges in this field of work.
