How the toolkit works
Seven significant events are identified, from arrest to release:
For each of these events a link is made to the relevant stage in the cycle of change (click here for an illustration). Then a simple guide is given to the interventions which may be used for the partner, child and family.
Appendix 1: Leaflets and more detailed resources (please click for a list) which can be used to facilitate discussion with the child to prepare and respond to the situation. Further, more detailed information which can be used as a resource for a more comprehensive understanding.
Appendix 2: Staff support information (please click for a list) - For practitioners and line managers there is a guide to John's model of reflective practice, together with suggested questions and guidelines to respond to common challenges in this field of work.
