Locality working and the Performance Toolkit
Locality working in Southampton
The Southampton Children and Young People's Trust adopted a locality model of working in May 2010. There are now two multi-agency teams, one working in the east and the other in the west of the city. Their aim is to improve outcomes for children, young people and families by placing teams of professionals in their community.
- West - incorporates the following wards: Bargate, Bevois, Freemantle, Coxford, Millbrook, Redbridge, Shirley
- East - incorporates the following wards: Bassett, Bitterne, Bitterne Park, Harefield, Peartree, Portswood, Sholing, Swaythling, Woolston
For more information about the overall management and development of our locality way of working contact Lesley Hobbs, Principal Officer for Prevention and Inclusion on 023 8083 4120.
Locality Performance Toolkit
The locality performance toolkit, available below, provides management information about a wide range of needs, service activity levels and outcomes. It is not fully comprehensive, as to produce information at this level we need to have a clear measure or outcome that can be related to a specific area, typically by a postcode. Some outcome information is only available from national sources, and therefore cannot be broken down into localities.
As the use of the locality toolkit develops there will be more useful management information that can be usefully shared to inform locality managers and other services working in localities. To request the addition of locality level information that you are aware is available into the toolkit please contact Dave Moody in the Children's Data Team, 023 8083 3645, email: dave.moody@southampton.gov.uk
