I think I would be a great Member of the Youth Parliament because I fight for what I believe in. Also I am a good listener, I see both sides of every argument and respect peoples views. Give me a chance to show that our word does count.
The issues that I am strongly passionate about aren’t being raised enough, so we need to make a statement so our generation will not have to suffer!
I think that child abuse is a vital issue because many abused children cannot speak out. We can give them the confidence to say NO; as a result they can live a happier life.
Climate change is a debatable subject. Many say to tackle climate change we should drive less and live in the dark more, but we all know it’s not that easy. Maybe by doing the little things like putting a Coke can in the correct recycle bin or stop leaving our gadgets on standby, we can do our bit for our planet.
We are lucky to live in a society where we have running water and a roof over our heads. Unfortunately, some people aren’t that lucky. Many of the third world countries often experience tragic natural disasters. To do our part to help the less privileged, we need to continue raising funds and showing our support.
It is important that we, as children, should show an interest in these issues now, because when we become older it might be too late.
