You may be entitled to financial support if you're 16 and planning to go on to further education after school. An Education Maintenance Allowance (EMA) could pay up to £30 a week straight into your bank account if you stay on in education at school or college after your GCSEs.

Aimhigher is a Government project created to encourage more people to go to higher education. It provides information to people considering higher education. Aimhigher also organises summer schools at universities and colleges, and mentoring schemes for students.

Learndirect allows you to learn in a flexible way. You can do many of the courses at your local centre or from home or work if you have access to the internet. Courses are broken down into bite-sized chunks, so you can learn at your own pace whenever and wherever it suits you.

The Skills Pledge is a campaign led by Business Link. The campaign encourages employers and individuals to take control of their future by investing in new skills.
