Big Lottery Children

Southampton City Council’s Play Services with support from the Southampton Play Partnership have successfully been awarded £526,601 from the Big Lottery Children’s Play Programme.
The money will be spent from Dec 2007 – Dec 2010 to increase the quantity and enhance the quality of free, open access children’s play provision during term times and school holidays.
The programme is made up of a number of projects which will be delivered in specific areas around Southampton City. The projects will be run by:
Southampton City Council Play Services - Thornhill Adventure Playground and Environmental Play Project
Southampton Children’s Play Association (SCPA) - open access holiday playschemes
Southampton YMCA - open access holiday playschemes
Hampshire and Isle of Wight Youth Options – SOLID Project
Solent Youth Action - Buddies scheme
